Reflection Questions
1. What are the qualities that makes someone a saint?
Saints must have many unique qualities that not many people possess. One of these qualities is faith. We all might think that we have faith, and some of us might, but saints must have an extreme amount of faith. In God, in themselves, and in others. They devote their entire life to God. They give up everything they know, and put all of their faith into one person. Another quality that saints have is compassion. Every saint has helped at least one person in a major way in their life. Whether that person is a family member, friend, stranger, or God himeself, all saints show compassion in one way or another.
2. Why does the Church have saints?
The church has saints for many reasons. One of those reasons are so that Catholics can have role models to look up to, and learn how to be a better Catholic. If all Catholics tryed to live their life in the way of a saint, the world would be such a better place. Another reason why the church has saints is to reward and give attention to the saints. They worked hard at honouring God and never giving up their faith in him, and it prooves to others that the church recognizes and rewards those of us who work hard at keeping our faith in God strong.
3. What was inspiring about your saint?
What I found inspiring about my saint, St.Anthony is that since I was in grade 4, Mrs.Marentette's class, she always told us to pray to St.Anthony when we were looking for something that we lost. When stealing started happening in our classroom, Miss.Marentette prayed to St.Anthony, and we found all of the stolen items, and discovered who was doing the stealing. Ever since then, I pray to St.Anthony whenever I am missing something, and pray every night to thank him for helping me when I needed him. He's the Saint that I pray to most often, and the saint that I know the most about, which inspired me to choose him as my saint.
